This week was so nice (of course I no longer ski and enjoy 55 degree days with dry sidewalks). That’s what we had most of the week, but yesterday about noon it started to snow, by dinner time it was a white out, and this morning it was 15-18″ of fresh light powder. In most ski towns, snow this late in the season is like lead, but this is the advantage of being at 9,600 feet above sea level. It should be a great Easter, and hiding eggs is the snow is really fun.
another foot of snow this morning, and Breckenridge is about to break through to double digit base…it’s 99″. It’s been amazing, Breckenridge couldn’t be busier but, I am worried about what happens after the ski area closes on April 27. In my 35 years I have seen it keep snowing right up to mid June when we declare summer has arrived. Thank goodness for Denver. It will be a balmy 70 degrees on Monday.
When you are coming to Breckenridge to get your all over body tan, we know we are past the point of no return. Face tans are a regular thing, but as the world is heating up, we are about perfect right now with a top temperature of 83 degrees. Two ski slopes are open 3 more to go in the next 12 weeks. Get your season pass while you can and I hope to see you at Slifer at 117 S Main street
