If the front page of every newspaper could start your day this happy

We’d be living in a better world. Richard Seeley , a photographer for the Summit Daily shot this photo that was on the cover of this mornings newspaper. A mother eagle feeding her tiny baby that looks smaller than a baby chicken. To live in Summit County is to live in a world that is so far removed from the ugly world beyond. How lucky we are all to share such a magnificent place.

Spring? Not with 15-18″ of Fresh light snow this morning. It’s a skiers heaven

Image

Spring? Not with 15-18

This week was so nice (of course I no longer ski and enjoy 55 degree days with dry sidewalks). That’s what we had most of the week, but yesterday about noon it started to snow, by dinner time it was a white out, and this morning it was 15-18″ of fresh light powder. In most ski towns, snow this late in the season is like lead, but this is the advantage of being at 9,600 feet above sea level. It should be a great Easter, and hiding eggs is the snow is really fun.

DANGER! DO NOT ENTER UNLESS YOU ARE READY FOR A NEW ADDICTION! If someone forces you through the door, make sure you do not walk up and around to the housemade chocolates and creamy caramels. They also make their own fudge, which I was very smart, not to taste. It’s best to just stand on the sidewalk, and admire the best looking sign in Breckenridge. How did town ever pass this sign since it’s so much fun. I was on my way into one of my favorite pick up lunch spots, The Ridge Street Kitchen ( yes it’s on main street at 216 S Main). I was hungry, but after ignoring this sign for many months, I though I’d just pop in and check it out. BIG Mistake. I brought some of my husbands favorites and tried one for myself. I was back in the next day. This is a great addition to Breckenridge’s shops.
